Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect the email you sign in with, the answers you give about yourself and the job you are applying for (name, location, experience, strengths, availability), and basic usage telemetry (pages visited, features used). Your answers are used only to prepare the plans and application documents you request. The /start plan stores your selected work preferences in your browser with a seven-day validity period. The optional city field is used when you open a job search; it is not included in our plan events.

2. How we use it

We use your inputs to prepare the materials you request, operate your account and measure product usage. Campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers may be stored in first-party attribution cookies for up to 30 days and associated with a checkout for accounting and campaign measurement. We do not include your contact details in advertising URLs.

On /start guides, advertising cookies require your affirmative choice. You can withdraw that choice on the same guide. We respect Global Privacy Control there by not loading ads. Serving ads in the EEA, UK or Switzerland additionally requires our certified consent platform. The native advertising preference control alone is not that platform.

The optional /start notification is a single planning reminder requested for the following day, not a vacancy alert or a subscription to marketing. Cancel it on the plan page or disable notifications in your browser. Signing up does not expand that permission. Other notification tools have their own opt-in.

3. Third-party services

Authentication and data storage are handled by Supabase. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your card number, CVC, or full card details, only a Stripe customer ID. Hosting is provided by Vercel. Transactional email is delivered through Resend. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from your Google profile.

Some application tools use third-party AI providers. The /start plan and the template-based kit journey use predefined rules and templates, without sending their content to AI providers. We do not use your submissions to train models. External job-search links open the named provider; Applica does not submit an application to an employer through those links.

4. Advertising

Free accounts may be shown ads served through Google’s ad network (Google Ad Manager) and certified ad partners. These third-party vendors use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Opting out disables interest-based targeting only; you may still see non-personalized, contextual ads. Paid subscribers are not shown ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google My Ad Center or aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from partner sites.

5. Push notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store your browser push subscription endpoint to deliver the alerts you opted into. You can disable push at any time from your browser settings or your account page.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use first-party cookies for your authentication session, locale preference, an anonymous visitor ID, and campaign attribution (UTM parameters), which also power our product experiments. Usage telemetry (page views, clicks, feature usage) is collected on our own infrastructure and is not shared with analytics providers.

7. Data retention

Plan answers expire in this browser after seven days and can be cleared from the plan page. Signing up saves application documents in your account until you delete them or request account deletion, subject to required accounting retention. Advertising choices and acquisition cookies last up to 30 days. A practice reward lasts 30 minutes; its pseudonymous claim record is retained for abuse prevention and operational accounting, not treated as proof of ad revenue.

Subscriptions used only for a /start reminder are removed after eight days by the scheduled cleanup when enabled. Standard profile alerts remain until you unsubscribe or delete your account. Aggregated usage and financial records may be retained for reporting and legal obligations.

8. Your rights

You can access, update, or delete your account at any time from the app, or request a data export or deletion by emailing support@employclue.com. Depending on where you live, the following data protection laws grant you additional rights:

GDPR (European Union, EEA & United Kingdom)

General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) and UK GDPR

We process your personal data on the legal bases of contract performance (providing the service you signed up for), consent (push notifications, marketing emails), and legitimate interest (security, product analytics). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and receive a portable copy of your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

LGPD (Brazil)

Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Law No. 13,709/2018)

You have the right to confirmation that we process your data, access to it, correction of incomplete or outdated data, anonymization or deletion of unnecessary data, portability to another provider, information about who we share data with, and revocation of consent. Requests are handled by the data controller identified above. You may also file a complaint with the ANPD (Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados).

CCPA/CPRA (California, United States)

California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request its deletion or correction, to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell personal information), to limit use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

9. Children's privacy

Applica is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and database row-level security. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of Applica after changes constitutes acceptance.
